PROJECT PASSAGE

In 2014 the artist Maha Mustafa, whom I have worked with extensively was commissioned by Malmo City to design the public space of Malmo’s new town square in Sweden, Dag Hammarskjold. Dedicated to the former Swedish UN Secretary General the square is located amongst a new entertainment and concert hall that embraces the expanding diverse culture with the extension of the city. The project involves the design and manufacturing of an 8m steel squlpture, an interactive fountain and 25m long bench made from local granite.
My work along with Maha was filled with new responsibility, from the submission of the competition design boards, to contract- ing, administrating, and finding the right kind of metal manufacturer. My main design responsibility was of the 25m long diabase granite bench with Malmo Shoreline engraving on it.
